A LOOK AT A FEW SIGNS IN THE COLLECTION

Discover the Beauty of Vintage Signs from a Bygone Era

These  signs, rescued, restored, are meant to intrigue, to lay claim to  memories, stimulate storytelling, re-establish our sense of  connectedness — to each other and to those whose lives preceded ours: our city is also their city. Signs of Our Times has already located these  signs and many others—among them the Idanha, Artsmith’s Jewelry,  and Fiesta Ballroom (restored by Image National): they will be refurbished as needed and installed  individually or in groups in open spaces, on walls, on rooftops.

Do You Recognize This Clock? Do You Have a Sign Suggestion?

Signs of Our Times has the capability of expanding our collection with your help! Do you know where historically important vintage signs might be hiding in storage? Help us uncover our city's past by letting us know if you've located relevant signage that  may have been a part of local history.

One such sign already in our possession is proving to be a mystery. This large clock, stored for years at Yanke Machine Shop, once belonged somewhere - on a building? on a pole? outside? inside? ... Who knows where? So far we're all stumped. Even the Yanke folks say it looks familiar, and came from a Boise business, but can't tell us where it came from. If you know, drop us a line HERE.
